Ribbons Undone

The title of this post (and the name of this Weihnachtsmarkt) translates to Harbor Christmas Market at the Chocolate Museum (yes- there’s an amazing Chocolate Museum here!). It has a nautical theme- I guess because it’s on The Rhine?

Kaufhof is one of the big department stores here. We decided to take the girls there to get some ideas on what they wanted to ask Santa for for Christmas. They almost never ask for anything, and when I asked them what they wanted for Christmas they just kind of looked at me blankly. Opa had also told us about the amazing store windows outside decorated completely with Steiff teddy bears. The girls loved it!

Only took a very few photos with my iphone, so these really don’t do the store justice. The place was a Christmas wonderland!

Look who found Santa’s chair…

This is only a very small section of the toy department (the Playmobil section alone was about 5 aisles). But this is where my girls were almost the whole time we were there (below)…

Quinnie was SO good at racing- she beat almost every kid she raced. Little does she know that Opa is going to set up his digital train (just like this one) in his basement for her (and Kiera). Quinnie also wants some Playmobil horses. Kiera wants a Hot Wheels track and cars and a Playmobil airplane (we bought it used from cousin Maxim). Airplanes are Kiera’s absolute favorite.
